What are the boundaries of legality?
Q. This may supersede the narrow view of legality, as it pertains to immigration, that many of us possess. However, in light of crimes and the degree to which a legal framework extends to embrace a given crime, what are the boundaries of legality? Aluding to rape and murder as parallel to 'illegal immigration' is simply ridiculus. The channels to legal migration are closed to the millions that cannot prove monetary solvency (which is why they want to migrate), and to those that do not meet educational qualification. Are we just as culpable of fostering this "illegal" act by hiring cleaning ladies, landscaping people, or construction company that either knowingly hire or "willing accept false" documentation to do their job. A. you can't realistically avoid patronizing places that hire illegals but a better solution would be to enforce the laws that are in place against hiring trhem in the first place. if there were stiffer penalties the jobs would dry up and the illegals would stop coming here in such great numbers.

Help, I need advice on a legal separation?
Q. My husband (AKA jerk) of 20 yrs is turning this into a huge fight. I don't want to fight. I am dealing with a pain disorder & am under medical care and I am seriously unable to work. He wants to kick me out with $7000 worth of CC debt (ours, but in my name) and claim he's in debt for $150K. He has assets, like a small 4 seater plane, construction equipment, work vehicles and tons of small things like computers, office equipment, etc. He has a great job but is threatening to quit to "prove" he couldn't afford to help me financially. A. Damn! My time in Alaska was nothing like yours. Sorry to hear about the "jerk". I think your lawyer will advise you that since you are not divorced you still share financial responsibility towards each other. Mention the house getting sold and also his other property. I think even if he sells those the judge could order you to 1/2 the money from the sale since it looks like he is trying to hide assets from the court. They really don't like that. Both of you should only be responsible to the debt in your name. If nothing is joint debt then the judge hopefully won't order you to pay for each others debt. As for a lawyer, doesn't the local court house have a family law office with someone you can talk to about all this? Those people are free… [cont.]

What are the laws about Rumble Seats for cars?
Q. What exactly are the legalities of a rumble seat? Many cars that are now called 'classics' were available with these extra hidden {(exterior)} seats. However they have fallen out of favor, but were still used on some concept cars up through the 1960s. Besides the seatbelt-for-everyone laws, what laws regard the construction and use of Rumble Seats and the vehicles that have them? Remember, I am asking about Exterior Rumble Seats, -NOT- extended cab Pickup truck jump seats. I already know about seat belt laws!!! BESIDES the requirement for seat belts, what OTHER laws are there?

A. Seat belts would still be required. Is that what you were asking? Although in many if not most states only persons under 18 years old would be required to use seat belts. No doubt in states that don't require adults to wear seat belts in the back seats you may not have to install belts but children would not be allowed to ride in those seats.
